A diesel concrete pump is a device specially used for conveying concrete. It is mainly composed of an engine, a hydraulic system, a conveying cylinder and a conveying pipeline. The diesel concrete pump drives the hydraulic system through the engine to make the piston in the conveying cylinder move back and forth, thereby realizing the suction and discharge of concrete. It is an essential equipment for concrete construction of high-rise buildings, bridges, tunnels, water conservancy projects and other projects.
What is a diesel concrete pump?
A diesel concrete pump is a construction machine that uses a diesel engine as a power source and uses pressure to continuously convey concrete along a pipeline to the pouring site, thereby realizing automatic pouring and greatly improving construction efficiency. It is a new type of concrete conveying equipment. Diesel concrete pumps have a drag-type structure, which can be operated flexibly, saving manpower and material resources, and meeting construction requirements.
Diesel concrete pump is a type of concrete pump, designed for field or mobile scenarios without external power supply.

Diesel concrete pump structure
The composition of diesel concrete pump mainly includes several key parts:
Power system
- Diesel engine: Provides power for the entire equipment. Common brands include Yuchai, Weichai and other well-known brands. The power and torque output of diesel engines are relatively high, with a common power range of 150~500 kW, which can meet the power requirements when pumping concrete.
- Battery: Used to start the diesel engine, and its voltage is generally 24V.
Hydraulic system
Main oil pump: One of the core components of the hydraulic system. Common brands include Germany’s HAWE, Rexroth, Japan’s Kawasaki, etc. The main oil pump is responsible for transporting hydraulic oil from the oil tank to various hydraulic components to provide power for the entire hydraulic system.
Hydraulic cylinder: Including main oil cylinder, swing oil cylinder, etc. The main oil cylinder is used to drive the piston movement in the concrete delivery cylinder, and the swing oil cylinder is used to drive the swing of components such as S valves.
Hydraulic valve group: Used to control the flow direction and pressure of hydraulic oil. Common ones include high-pressure and large-flow main valve block systems. Through the control of the hydraulic valve group, the suction and pumping of concrete can be achieved.
Hydraulic oil tank: stores hydraulic oil, and its capacity is generally large, such as 500L, to ensure the normal operation of the hydraulic system.
Hydraulic motor: drives the concrete cylinder piston to reciprocate.
Conveying system
Concrete delivery cylinder: It is a channel for concrete delivery, and its specifications are such as Φ200×1650mm. A piston is installed in the delivery cylinder. Under the drive of the hydraulic oil cylinder, the reciprocating motion of the piston realizes the suction and pumping of concrete.
S valve: used to control the flow direction of concrete. Its design is usually more complex and can achieve continuous delivery of concrete.
Hopper: used to store concrete, its capacity is such as 600L, and there is a stirring device to prevent concrete from condensing in the hopper.
Delivery pipeline: transports concrete from the delivery cylinder to the construction site. Its material is generally wear-resistant and pressure-resistant materials such as alloy steel or high-density polyethylene.
Control system
Control panel: used for operators to control and monitor the operating status of the equipment, including hydraulic system, electrical system, etc.
Sensor: used to detect the operating parameters of the equipment, such as pressure, temperature, speed, etc., and feed these parameters back to the control panel.
PLC control system: such as the Japanese Omron brand, which realizes automatic control of equipment through preset programs, improving the convenience and accuracy of operation.
Cooling system
Radiator: Adopt air-cooled radiator, dissipate the heat in hydraulic oil into the air through the fan, prevent hydraulic oil from overheating, ensure system stability, and ensure that the hydraulic system works within the allowable temperature range.
Lubrication system
Centralized lubrication system: adopt progressive distributor, supply oil to each lubrication point in turn, and the oil volume and time can be set. The main function of the lubrication system is to lubricate moving parts, prevent concrete or mortar from entering moving parts, reduce wear and extend the service life of equipment.
